About Us

We are FlightLab, a student aircraft construction team at Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Our work brings together students from various fields of study who are interested in the development and construction of unmanned aircraft. As part of the AIAA Design/Build/Fly competition, we design, construct, and build a new aircraft every year. We carry out the entire development process ourselves, from the initial idea, through calculations and simulations, to production and flight tests. Our focus is on dealing with real technical problems in a practical and efficient way.
Our team is made up of students from aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and related disciplines, with each member taking responsibility for their own area, be it overall design, aerodynamics, avionics, manufacturing, or organization. Through close collaboration, we learn from each other and continuously develop our technical and organizational skills.
For us, FlightLab complements our studies, allowing us to gain practical experience and work independently. Mistakes are just as much a part of this as successes. Teamwork, direct practical relevance, and exchanges with other international teams in the competition are particularly valuable to us.
We are supported by Munich University of Applied Sciences as well as industry partners who enable and accompany our work
